The air-powered Man Saver Post Driver takes all the work out of pounding a fence post into the ground, said Rohrer, 73, who engineered and patented the device in 1997.

He got the idea for the device when a fellow rancher complained of a bad back. The rancher needed an easier way to build a fence, Rohrer said.

Permanent fence now in place where 3-year-old nearly tumbled off cliff

CANNON BEACH, Ore. - A permanent fence has been put in place where a 3-year-old girl nearly fell off a cliff.

The incident, which was captured on video, happened last summer while the Pitton family and some cousins were enjoying some nice weather at the Ecola State Park overlook along Highway 101.

While posing for a photo with some other children, 3-year-old Alaina Pitton stepped backwards against a wooden fence and toppled through the gap between the top and bottom fence rails.
