Outagamie Airport lands aid for fence

GREENVILLE — The Outagamie County Regional Airport will receive $736,843 in state and federal funds to replace a perimeter fence.

The state is providing $18,422 with Outagamie County matching that amount. The Federal Aviation Administration is providing about $700,000.

Work is expect to start in the spring and should be finished by the summer.

The state Department of Transportation said the new fence will improve security at the airport and protect the wildlife near the airport.

Reward offered for damaged fence

Reward for information leading to person who damaged school fence

In the early morning hours of Dec. 6, 2008, the perimeter fence and baseball fence at St. Thomas More High School were struck by a hit-and-run vehicle just west of the main entrance at 2601 E. Morgan Ave. Auto body parts left at the scene indicated the vehicle was a likely a red 2007 GMC truck, either a Yukon Denali or Tahoe. The vehicle would have extensive damage to the front left fender or bumper area, said Kevin Doan, director of buildings and grounds.

Questions raised about stun fences for prisons

MADISON — Questions about the effectiveness of stun fences at Taycheedah and other prisons raised by a Fond du Lac woman who is security guard at Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution elicited some concerns Monday from state legislators.
